Transport supports for cargo carried open

Some cargo travels without a crate: large frames, vessels and curved components. It rests on supports instead. We design and CNC-cut those supports from plywood. Two kinds: radius cradles for curved parts, and flat supports under machine frames. Each is designed per load and reviewed by our engineer. Above 500 kg, an engineering review comes before any price. Send photos and dimensions.

We have built layered plywood transport supports for a maker of energy equipment.

APPLICATIONS

Where supports are used

Radius cradle

Holds a curved component on its radius. Plywood layers are stacked to build the bearing width. Each layer carries the same arc, cut on the CNC router from your drawing or model, and dowels keep the layers aligned.

Flat supports under machine frames

Supports under frames and beds, designed per load and reviewed by our engineer. Above 500 kg, an engineering review comes before any price. Send the footprint, the weight and how the frame is lifted and secured; we confirm the design and its limits in the quote.

OPTIONS

Options

Options do not change the online estimate. They travel with your request and are priced in the written quote.

Sea freight and long-term storage

Packaging that crosses the sea or is stored for months may need moisture protection chosen for the cargo. Tell us the route and the storage, and we confirm in the quote what we supply.

Marking: logo and handling symbols

Your logo can be engraved into the panels on our CNC router; it reads best on film-faced plywood. Handling symbols by stencil or engraving, confirmed in the quote. Send the artwork with your request.

FAQ

Questions

What do you need to design a support?+

Photos with dimensions, or a drawing. For a curved part, the radius and the length of contact. Also the weight, the lifting method and how the load is secured. We ask for anything that is missing.

Do I need a drawing or a 3D model?+

No. Photos and dimensions are enough to start. Our engineer designs the support and sends a drawing for approval before cutting.

What load can a support carry?+

We do not publish generic load ratings. Weight, centre of gravity and the way the load is lifted are inputs to the design, and our engineer reviews each order. A support carries and locates the cargo. Securing it against movement in transport is done by lashing, which is planned with your carrier. A support is not a shock or vibration rating.

Does ISPM 15 apply to a plywood support?+

A support made wholly of plywood or OSB may fall outside ISPM 15 scope (ISPM 15:2018, section 2.1); we confirm it per order and destination. Solid timber parts fall under ISPM 15; we confirm marking per order or use plywood parts instead.

Can you add fixing points?+

Cargo is normally lashed to the vehicle by its own lashing points. If you need fixing points in the support, tell us; we confirm in the quote whether we can provide them.

What does it cost, and what is the minimum order?+

Supports are quoted per project, with no online estimate. For cargo above 500 kg we start with an engineering review; a price follows only after the review. Price depends on size, material, sheet use, machine time and quantity. The minimum order is 100 EUR per order, excluding VAT and delivery. Shipments outside Estonia have a separate logistics threshold of 150 EUR. Made to order. Lead time is confirmed with your quote.

Send us the load that needs a support.

Upload photos, a drawing or a STEP file. Our engineer designs the support and sends a drawing for approval.

No drawing? Send photos and dimensions. Our engineer designs the support and sends a drawing for approval.
